Patient data can be held on a number of systems across the healthcare sector, causing patient data quality challenges. Experian QAS have been chosen by Connecting for Health under the National Programme for IT. Our products and services are widely integrated into Patient Administration Systems (PAS) and are used throughout the NHS and private healthcare organisations.

Ensure accurate patient details

Managing patient names and addresses, lifestyle characteristics and medical history across various platforms means that maintaining accurate data is a constant challenge.

As organisations use different systems, difficulties occur in exchanging information which can impact healthcare provision.

Patient data is constantly changing. Experian QAS works with trusts within the National Programme for IT, and those outside it, and our own contact data management (CDM) solutions to:

  • identify, remove and prevent duplicate patient records
  • update records against bereavement data files
  • correct inaccuracies within patient data
  • enhance patient data against geodemographic data sets with Experian's MOSAIC information and government ward data
  • use demographic information to identify practice patterns, incidence of diseases and complications
  • manage patient data so that it is ready for migration and for new shared service projects

Experian QAS products and services

Used by over 150 NHS organisations, QAS Pro uses Royal Mail data integrated within Patient Administration Systems (PAS) to accurately and quickly collect contact details. This ensures services such as electronic prescription ordering and appointment eBooking work efficiently.

Patient data can then be kept up to date with QAS Batch and QAS Batch with Suppression.

By using QAS HealthCoder, you will have access to PAF and additional healthcare related data such as Strategic Health Authority, Primary Care Organisation and Electoral Ward information. QAS HealthCoder:

  • ensures that the correct Primary Care Trust (PCT) information is assigned
  • is easily integrated into mainline applications including PAS

Avoiding duplicate patient records

Achieving a single patient view can be hindered by duplicate patient records, leading to important information being lost in relation to a patient's health.

QAS Identify can be used at point of data collection, allowing the patient to confirm that they are the same individual, therefore preventing duplicates entering your database.

It is a unique de-duplication service for the Public Sector, which helps facilitate a single view of your patients across a whole organisation and across multiple departments. It can identify duplicate individuals in your database, even when that individual has moved house or changed their name.
