Identity verification is the process of proving that a customer is who they say they are, at the point of application for a product or service, by taking the biographical information they provide and comparing this against authoritative data sources.
This allows a company to establish the authenticity of the identity, determine whether the person giving the details is the rightful owner of that identity, and understand whether they are high risk individual likely to commit fraud.
