Business data

Enhance your database

Experian QAS products can be enhanced with additional information. Add business data to information you already hold to help with profiling, analysis and reporting.

Know their Business

Containing over 2.79 million records, Experian's Business Data file used within Experian QAS allows you to:

  • capture a full and accurate business address
  • append the telephone and fax number of an organisation
  • add SIC (Standard Industry Classification) codes, employee numbers and location types

Enhanced database analysis and profiling

By using business data you can build a database full of accurate business names and addresses, and ensure future database analysis is not undermined by poor data quality.

  • fully understand the composition of your database
  • enhance and improve the targeting of your marketing campaigns
  • profile your database and prioritise prospects
  • take a more strategic approach

"Experian QAS solutions enabled us to clean and enhance our data reducing the database in size, yet lifting the accuracy of our business data to 100%. We've realised that it's not about quantity but the quality of data that makes businesses more efficient."

Beverley Lamb, Citation Plc

Where does the data come from?

Experian, the global information solutions company, provides business services to enable their clients to target, acquire, manage and develop profitable customer relationships.

Experian recognised the need for business data and established the new National Business Database in June 2004. The database is compiled from 10 different sources including exclusive access to Yellow Pages data.

Enhance your data

Business names and addresses can be further enhanced through the use of additional datasets within the same Experian QAS interface.

  • Telephone and fax numbers: contains telephone and fax number information, providing the main contact numbers for each business
  • Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) codes and Yellow Pages/Thomson classification: classify businesses by activity, and the products and services they offer
  • Employee numbers: at a given site/company
  • Location types: differentiates between a head office, a branch of a company, or a single location - a Small Office/Home Office (SOHO) indicator is also available
  • Commercial MOSAIC: detailed mapping of the commercial sectors to help identify future prospects
  • Company registration numbers: confirm company details and for legal and invoicing purposes
  • Business Location URN: Unique Reference Number of the business location - use for de-duplication and obtaining further information from Experian
