Gazetteer benefits unlocked

Formerly QuickAddress Gateway

QAS Gateway helps you use your gazetteer intelligently and verify your citizen data. This helps achieve data integrity across your organisation, as well as efficiency targets across local and central government, emergency services, criminal justice and healthcare sectors.

Download the Surrey County Council case study, and read how they benefited from QAS Gateway.

Search PAF and your NLPG

Being able to search on your NLPG, as well as PAF simultaneously, will allow:

  • risk free transition
  • access to UPRN information
  • data within and outside the council boundaries
  • full postal address and additional demographic information

Going forward, this one search will provide all the location and citizen information you need.

"Experian QAS helps us to make sense of the NLPG. It enables easy interrogation and look-up of gazetteer data, and we also have the reassurance of knowing that QAS Gateway software can work with other data sources."

Ian Coleman,
IT Development Architect, Surrey County Council

Start using your gazetteer

As of 1st October 2007, UK Local Authorities were tasked with managing and updating their Local Land and Property Gazetteers daily into the central hub.

Now the challenge begins to access and use this information.

"At present, not all departments within authorities that maintain an LLPG are making use of it." *

Discuss a Statement of Work with Experian QAS to detail how you can begin to see ROI from your gazetteer. We'll detail the process and timelines enabling you to focus and mitigate risk.

How QAS Gateway works

QAS Gateway consists of a database builder which compresses and indexes gazetteer data according to ongoing requirements. It does this by compressing and indexing millions of address records in real time allowing a user to search against the national gazetteers.

Users can:

  • search across accurate property information for more streamlined allocation of resources
  • find addresses and property grid references quickly
  • reduce common mistakes in data
  • improve customer service through validating data at the point of collection

In addition to the database builder, QAS Gateway consists of:

QAS Pro or QAS Pro Web:

  • facilitates desktop or online collection of standard information against the LLPG, NLPG, CAG and national Gazetteer for Scotland
  • allows all systems and service centres to reference the same data source as the standard reference across the council
  • enables seamless transfer of customer data between different departments with the use of the KeyFinder Search engine and UPRN

QAS Batch:

  • refreshes legacy databases by cleaning them against your chosen data source
  • ensures on-going maintenance of your systems' data integrity
  • regular cleaning can be scheduled as and when required

QAS Match:

  • prevents duplicate contact records by enabling comparisons before new data is entered into your database
  • enables a single citizen view

Return on Investment:

According to CEBR:

"The NLPG could save local government in England and Wales alone at least £54.4 million per annum."

therefore having access to the data and being able to use it intelligently is key

  • benefit from time and money invested in developing the LLPG/NLPG/CAG/National Gazetteer for Scotland
  • increase ROI through savings from the avoidance of expensive retrospective cleaning
  • verify citizen data as you collect it
  • find addresses and property grid references, with minimal address information or manual input
  • intelligently search across accurate and current property information for more streamlined allocation of limited resources
  • quickly return accurate national grid references for each property or street furniture enabling better service provision

Improved customer service:

  • reduce inefficiencies and common mistakes in your data
  • improve customer service through validating data at the point of data collection
  • increase efficiency through a reduction in duplicate records
  • respond quickly to customer requirements with easy access to your LLPG

Shared services:

  • use your LLPG within multiple systems including the web
  • gain greater efficiencies through economies of scale and reduction in duplication
  • enable a single citizen view by using your single data source (LLPG/NLPG)
  • allocate budget an resource in the right places
