Experian QAS products can be enhanced by adding data sets. These can be appended to address records automatically when records are collected, or added during a batch cleaning process.

Additional business data sets

Business names and addresses can be enhanced with additional data sets, which can be easily integrated within the same Experian QAS interface.

  • Telephone and fax numbers: contains telephone and fax number information, providing the main contact numbers for each business.
  • Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) codes and Yellow Pages/Thomson classification: These codes are used to classify businesses by the activity they are involved in, and the type of products and services they offer. The codes can be used to profile a database of customers or prospects.
  • Employee numbers: at a given site/company.
  • Location types: Whether the address refers to a head office, a branch of a company, or a single location. A Small Office/Home Office (SOHO) indicator is also available.
  • Commercial MOSAIC: For detail mapping of the commercial sectors to help identify future prospects
  • Company registration numbers: Use to confirm company details and for legal and invoicing purposes
  • Business Location URN: Unique Reference Number of the business location. Used for deduplication and obtaining further information from Experian.

Containing over 2.79 million records, Experian's Business Data file used within QAS allows you to:

  • Capture a full and accurate business address
  • Append the telephone and fax number of an organisation
  • Add SIC (Standard Industry Classification) codes, employee numbers and location types

Where does the data come from?
Experian®, the global information solutions company, provides business services to enable their clients to target, acquire, manage and develop profitable customer relationships. Experian recognised the need for business data and established the new National Business Database in June 2004. The database is compiled from 10 different sources including exclusive access to Yellow Pages data.

Additional international data sets

International data helps ensure accurate address management of your international customers. With 160 countries and territories, Experian QAS provides the breadth and depth of data which other companies find hard to match.

Our international address data is broken into two sources: primary and partner sourced.

Our primary source data is based around addresses data supplied by the national primary source, generally the national postal authority

In addition to the primary International Address data we also provide data which is supplied by trusted partners. These sources range from postal authorities and carriers to research organisations, to ensure you receive the best quality data available.

Geographical data

By attaching a grid reference, individual records can be plotted onto geographic information systems (GIS) or mapping systems, allowing users to study the geographical penetration of customers or plan distribution outlets. Available data sets include:

  • Ordnance Survey ADDRESS-POINT
  • Ordnance Survey Code Point
  • Grid References, accurate to postcode level, resolution of 100m
  • 10m Grid References

Local government data

QAS for BS7666 - Designed to enable government to capture or reformat addresses in line with Part 3 of British Standard 7666, facilitating the sharing of information within and between government organisations. Immediate access to Public Sector codes can substantially improve administrative efficiency.
Available data sets include:

  • Westminster MP & political Party
  • Parliamentary Constituency Name
  • Local Government Tiers
  • Local Education Authority Codes

  • Primary Care/Local Health Groups

Utility data Gas and electricity serial numbers registered at a given premise enable customer account numbers and addresses to be quickly identified improving both quality and speed of customer service.

UDPRN

The UDPRN (Unique Delivery Point Reference Number) DataPlus set is now available.

UDPRNs were introduced in 2004 by the Royal Mail as an eight digit unique numeric code for delivery points on the PAF file. UDPRNs are assigned to each delivery point to give a specific designation to a delivery address.

The UDPRN DataPlus set is valuable for those working in:

  • delivery and logistics
  • shipments

  • and for anyone who needs to identify a delivery point correctly the first time, every time.

Absolute Contacts

Absolute Contacts from Experian provides up-to-date and verified change of address information that enables organisations to maintain, or regain, contact with UK consumers when they move house.

Absolute Contacts utilises Experian's wealth of name and address data and proprietary business processes to accurately identify changes of address.
