Situation
Nationwide wanted to improve efficiency and cost savings across the HR function, which handles 38,000 job applications a year and manages over 15,000 employees.
Solution
Nationwide implemented PeopleSoft Enterprise Human Resource Management System (HRMS) integrated with QAS Pro to increase efficiency of mailings.
Results
Increased overall efficiency of the HR function with a massive user acceptance and enthusiasm towards the improved data entry process.
In April 2002, Nationwide implemented PeopleSoft's Human Resource Management System (HRMS) in a move to support its business. To increase efficiency of mailings the society decided to invest in an address management system as well. “We considered various providers decided to go with QAS on the strength of the success of its solutions being used in other areas of our business," says Keith Astill, head of corporate personnel at Nationwide.
Return on investment
Nationwide implemented QAS's QuickAddress Pro into its existing PeopleSoft HRMS in June 2003, and within only three months it had proved successful. Keith continues: "The benefits of QuickAddress have been wide-ranging, and in particular have helped to ensure a rapid, reliable recruitment process.”
Improved efficiency
The system also makes it easier to key data – making it quicker. The time saving has increased the overall efficiency of the HR function, freeing resources to work on other projects. Furthermore, employees throughout Nationwide can now access the QuickAddress-enabled PeopleSoft HRMS via the company intranet to accurately update their own contact details. Previously employees relied on the HR department to update their details on their behalf.
Address information for employees is also fed, via PeopleSoft HRMS, to a wide range of sources, many of which generate correspondence of their own, such as the pensions, payroll and car fleet departments. Not only have the consequent cost savings benefited the whole organisation, but user acceptance of the QuickAddress-enhanced HR system has been speedy and enthusiastic, adding to the success of the project.
