Deduplication made simple - QAS Unify
The latest version of QAS Unify offers additional features that make it easier than ever before to remove duplicate records from your database.
Removing duplicates from a contact database is an essential part of effective contact data management, providing the following benefits:
- Reduction in marketing costs by not sending duplicate mailings
- An increase in business process efficiency
- Maintenance of a single customer view
- Assurance that business decisions are based on accurate data
- Improved customer perception
QAS Unify allows customers to regularly remove duplicate contact records in bulk from their database either by deduping from a single file or database, or by comparing two files or databases for similar or identical records.
In addition to removing duplicates from your contact data, the latest release of QAS Unify offers the following new benefits:
1. More control over selecting the record to keep or 'survivor record'
When a group of duplicates or very similar records are identified, QAS Unify automatically suggests the one record to keep from the group: the 'survivor record'. A new, flexible rule builder allows you to define one or more conditions to determine which record is the best to keep. For example, if your record contains a 'date last modified' field, you may wish to choose to keep the record in the group of duplicates that was updated most recently.
2. Introducing record merge
Record merge lets you take the best fields from a group of duplicate or highly similar records to create a single, high-value record. You can then use this merged record as the foundation of your organisation's Single Customer View. As the assessment of which fields are 'best' differs according to the information available in your contact records, a flexible rule builder is provided to tailor QAS Unify to your specific data and business requirements.
3. Additional operating system and database support
In addition to existing support, QAS Unify can now take advantage of Microsoft Windows Server 2008 and SQL Server 2008 database.
