Dedupe your data. See your customers clearly
Duplicate records on a database are bad news for your organisation and for the people on the database. For an organisation, duplicates lead to wasted mailings, reduced return on investment, and can cause damage to a brand if perceived as not environmentally aware.
People on the database who receive the same mailing more than once, meanwhile, are likely to develop a negative perception of your organisation, and may ask to be removed from your database.
Services exist to deduplicate a database, but most of these involve sending the data out to a bureau, something that many organisations are reluctant to do because of the sensitivity and confidentially of customer data. To solve this problem, Experian QAS has developed QAS Unify, a simple to install in-house solution that can assist you with the bulk removal of duplicate records from your database.
The return on investment case is clear: many organisations mail, on average, 100,000 contacts a week with an average cost of £1 per mailing. The implementation of QAS Unify identifies that 1% of contacts in the database are duplicates, that's £52,000 worth of annual savings.
