Now the customer really is king

A new report form Experian Integrated Marketing examines the phenomenon of the empowered consumer, and explains how to turn it to your advantage.

Experian has produced a study which highlights how consumer behaviour is changing online, and how this is affecting retailers. The report, titled 'Engaging online with The Empowered Consumer', explains how consumers increasingly expect to engage with brands seamlessly across multiple channels, from in-store and catalogues to the web. It details the growth in broadband internet access, and in traffic to online retailing sites, particularly among the over 55s.

The report also offers advice to retailers on how to respond to this growing consumer empowerment, and take advantage of the opportunity it presents. It urges retailers to create a seamless customer experience across channels, and to collect accurate data on customers and prospects to deliver relevant marketing and customer service communications.
