Choosing the right electronic authentication solution
Earlier this year, Experian QAS attended the International Gaming Expo show at Earls Court. Here, James Blake, Head of UK Authentication for Experian, discusses the highlights.
I was honoured to act as a panellist on the age verification and authentication session at the International Gaming Expo show in January, which brought together more than 25,000 attendees from across the world.
The panel debated some important issues. We discussed the tough challenge that gaming organisations face, as they are torn between not rejecting genuine customers, while protecting the company from negative publicity associated with underage trading, anti-money laundering and fraud. How to manage age and identity is a hot topic and there has been a lot of debate around the subject of electronic identity checking. Here are a few tips to look out for when considering an electronic authentication solution:
- How current is the data? Is the data regularly updated?
- How reliable is the data in terms of quality, quantity and length of the record?
- How robust is the system used? Can it handle high volumes of transactions?
We are currently working with a number of gaming organisations, such as Grosvenor Casinos, William Hill and Stanley Casinos. We're helping them to verify players in terms of age, identity and fraud prevention, and ultimately to speed up and increase customer acquisition.
