Torex & Experian QAS deliver joint solution to Martin McColl

Martin McColl, the UK's leading newsagent chain, has signed a deal worth £19m with retail specialist Torex to provide point-of-sale (POS) software across its estate of stores across the UK.

The POS software will be deployed at all POS for quicker and more efficient customer service, along with Torex's HP RP5700 POS retail processor units, with durable MultiQ touch screens supporting customer-facing video media at the POS, and bluetooth hand held terminals from Nordic for management of stock functions on the shop floor.

The eight-year contract includes implementation of the POS system, with additional functionality, including fully integrated contact data capture software from Experian QAS. It will also offer online account management for home news delivery customers, who will be able to order new publications, confirm holiday periods and settle bills over the Internet.

"The solution will deliver real and measurable business improvements across our estate, increase the productivity of our stores and enhance the overall customer experience", said Martin McColl Finance Director, Jonathan Miller.

Torex is a leading European-based global provider of software and solutions to the extended retail marketplace. The Torex and Experian QAS partnership has been in place for five years, offering customers a point-of-sale application which incorporates contact data management software. This guarantees that customer details are taken quickly and accurately at point-of-sale, enabling retail organisations to keep track of their customers.
