Oracle and QAS - Helping organisations achieve high quality customer data

Oracle and QAS have developed an Address Validation Adapter to connect QAS data validation solutions to Oracle Master Data Management. Address data validation is the process of comparing a raw or user-entered address against a verified or authorised data source. This typically involves using the national postal source for that country, to determine if the address is recognised and factually correct. The key benefit of address validation is address correction where a user-entered address is evaluated, corrected, completed, and returned for further processing. With accurate address data, organisations benefit from:

  • Effective customer and prospect communication, helping to achieve accurate delivery of products and mail. This improves customer service and customer confidence whilst reducing the cost and time of shipping.
  • Reduced unnecessary costs and inefficiencies related to poor data quality, such as reduced postage and administrative costs and Credit Collection times because goods are received first time and on time.
  • Improved territory-based segmentation and marketing campaign ROI. Consistent data capture and storage allows accurate usage and manipulation of data, resulting in more targeted marketing and potential improvement in marketing response rates.

Organisations operating internationally have a greater challenge when it comes to validating international customer address data. There are wide variations in data standards across different countries and address data often has many unique characteristics and conventions, some of which only apply to the local country. There can also be wide disparity in the availability of the reference data required to correct and validate address and other customer data elements, such as corporate name or contact titles.

QAS solutions overcome the data quality and address management challenges of the smallest businesses to public sector organisations and multi-national corporations. QAS data validation software is seamlessly integrated into Oracle's Master Data Management application to effectively validate addresses belonging to 18 European and non-European countries, including United Kingdom, Denmark, France, Germany, Sweden, Netherlands, Spain, Singapore, Australia, Canada and United States.

Address data quality is improved by bringing together QAS and Oracle Master Data Management solution. The QAS application ensures that address data is accurate, current and verified against an enhanced data file supplied by a country's primary data source, for example, Royal Mail's Postcode Address File in the UK or United States Postal Service in the U.S.
