NLPG definition

Definition :

The National Land and Property Gazetteer (NLPG) is a UK initiative created to ensure a definitive and consistent address infrastructure. Made up of the Local Land and Property Gazetteers (LLPG) which come from the local authorities across the UK.

The National Land and Property Gazetteer initiative is a collection of information from local based authorities on address information and acts as a central hub for all this information.

The NLPG also enforces compliance by local authorities with the national standard for the representation of address information. The NLPG is managed by the company Intelligent Addressing on behalf of the Improvement and Development Agency (IDeA) - an umbrella government organisation coordinating and promoting local authority good practice.
