API definition

Definition :
Application program interface or API for short is a program broken into small files that hold the core functionality of the program.

API's can be placed in other programs, helping to enhance the user experience for staff and customers. An example of a working API is the placement of a contact verification API into a call centre system, this helps the call centre agent capture the correct address details quickly and efficiently helping them answer the customers questions.

Experian QAS name and address entry software can be added into many CRM systems as an API, helping streamline address verification and address capture.
