Virgin Media may benefit from address management improvements
Dec 1 2011, 10:55 AM
Address management might prove important for Virgin Media as it is aiming to improve the targeting of commercials.
According to New Media Age, the broadcaster is hoping to develop a system where people will be shown different advertisements - dependant on their location - while watching the same programmes.
The news source noted that the company is hoping to test the service on its online player initially, before ultimately making use of it through TV sets.
A spokeswoman for the corporation said: "We have a great understanding of our customers and a network intelligent enough to create new opportunities and build new markets."
She added that customer experience is a top priority for the business throughout the process.
Address management might also prove important for Nectar as it recently announced that the first 7,500 people who sign up to trial its Adpoints service over the next three months will receive 1,000 bonus points, New Media Age reported.
