UK healthcare sector modernisation and data strategy "a paradigm"
Sep 3 2009, 08:06 AM
Modernisation of the UK healthcare industry - and its data strategy - is "a paradigm" to health systems around the world, it has been asserted.
Victor Almeida, Senior Analyst at Kable, a business division of Guardian News and Media, made his comments as the organisation published a report indicating that work on implementing the Care Record Service (CSR) is likely to continue.
As such, growth in the market for software systems and data management will be fuelled, the body suggested.
Such growth is predicted to come from software revenues and despite the fact that the CRS has been delayed by two years, the service's development has reached a "tipping point" and should cause the signing of many new contracts in the future.
Mr Almeida said: "The health industry has the largest budget in the UK public sector and its modernisation is a paradigm not only for the rest of the UK government, but to health systems all across the world."
