Small businesses 'overlooking disaster recovery plans'
Feb 22 2010, 12:11 PM
It is essential that small businesses put disaster recovery plans in place and are able to access data from remote locations.
This is according to Robert Lovell, Chief Executive of ThinkGrid, who said this is an area that is overlooked by many companies in the UK and around the globe.
"People are always worried about what's happening today, what's happening tomorrow - people very rarely think about what's going to happen in the winter, whether they need to think about a solution or what's going to happen next year," he commented.
Mr Lovell noted that cloud computing can help small businesses to handle their recovery in the event of an emergency.
Bosses using this solution can access their office data and interfaces from any location around the world and get the same usability wherever they are, he explained.
A recent study carried out by Teneros revealed that 25% of organisations do not have access to a remote data centre facility.
