Small businesses 'must invest in mobile marketing'
Feb 26 2010, 13:31 PM
It is important that small business owners invest in mobile marketing strategies in order to widen their reach, an expert has claimed.
Writing for Utalkmarketing.com, Raam Thakrar, Chief Executive of Touchnote, said the main advantage of e-commerce is that it can introduce your business to a global audience.
"The web is, after all, an environment where consumers can compare prices, reviews and customer feedback at the click of a button," he commented.
Mr Thakrar noted that businesses can benefit from investing in mobile marketing because phone usage is high even in countries where access to PCs is relatively low.
"Many African populations now regard their mobile phones as indispensable," he added.
In related news, Eva Berg-Winters, senior manager and new media specialist at PricewaterhouseCoopers, recently claimed that marketing channels are increasingly beginning to merge.
She noted that the majority of companies now have advertising strategies that target consumers in a number of ways.
