Royal Mail 'improves change-of-address data'
May 28 2010, 11:50 AM
The National Change-of-Address (NCOA) system at Royal Mail has undergone an address management revamp to offer a more responsive service.
Some 34 million consumer records will now allow customers to find out where their recipients have moved to with greater accuracy, while the organisation has consulted data industry experts to help with the alterations.
Brand Republic reports that the Universal Suppression Service will be replaced by the new NCOA Suppress system, while the NCOA Update facility will allow people to notify the company of a change of address.
Keith Jones, Head of Data Strategy at the postal service, said: "Royal Mail is intent on investing in and developing its data assets to help database managers and marketers improve targeting and reduce waste, to get the very best value from their campaign activities."
Figures released by Royal Mail this week have shown that a website developed to assist the direct marketing industry has been more popular than anticipated, attracting more than 4,000 registrations.
