NHS launches online data strategy to improve best practice in care of babies
Aug 12 2009, 12:44 PM
The government has launched a new data strategy designed to improve best practice in the dissemination of information provided to parents.
NHS Baby LifeCheck is an online resource that parents and carers can consult to obtain advice and guidance on health matters concerning their child.
The free website includes practical tips on a range of issues and short videos that can be viewed to resolve any queries that may crop up.
Health Minister Ann Keen commented: "NHS Baby LifeCheck is a reliable source of non-judgemental, online information for parents and carers. It provides reassurance and advice about their babys health development, happiness and safety.
"It's an easy way for parents to find out if they are doing the best thing for their child, whilst also supporting them to set goals or find further help to make improvements for themselves and their baby."
Yesterday (August 11th) also saw the government launch an online tool that enables patients to rate hospitals on a range of criteria such as cleanliness and quality of food.
