New PAF licences "better value"
Apr 7 2010, 11:55 AM
The new Postcode Address File (PAF) licences launched at the start of this month have been called an improvement by the head of Royal Mail's Address Management Unit.
Miranda Dodd pointed out that the PAF, which contains 28 million postcodes and delivery addresses, is relied on by a wide range of businesses and organisations and suggested the new terms and conditions that came into force on April 1st will make it easier to use.
A Data Strategy Online article on the Marketing Week website quoted her as saying: "PAF now offers even better value, through providing a fairer, more flexible service for current and potential customers who want to benefit from using PAF to manage their databases, or reach and target customers."
According to Royal Mail, the PAF is the UK's most complete and up-to-date address database, containing both residential and business addresses.
It claims it is "invaluable" for organisations creating and maintaining mailing lists and seeking to reduce instances of items being returned or undelivered.
