Data quality initiatives 'planned by majority of companies'
Sep 2 2010, 10:58 AM
A majority of companies are thinking about conducting data quality initiatives over the course of the next 12 months.
The Experian QAS survey revealed 84 per cent of the organisations it interviewed are either planning to invest or considering an investment in data quality work in the next year.
It also found that around 50 per cent of respondents are being driven to consider data quality improvements with the intention of delivering better customer satisfaction rates, reports Information Management.
The study also discovered that 69 per cent of organisations either have a contact data management strategy in place or are currently coming up with one that fits their business requirements.
Earlier this week, OCDQ blogger Jim Harris noted the growing challenges facing businesses in the field of data quality.
He noted that in addition to databases and spreadsheets, information is now being collected from sites such as Facebook and Twitter.
