Data management required to make most of email marketing?
Jun 7 2011, 15:13 PM
Email is continuing to be a strong force in the world of marketing, which could mean that firms should prioritise data management.
That is according to a new report from Epsilon and the Email Experience Council that showed a conversion rate of three per cent in the first quarter of 2011, the highest in the past three years.
The rate of email openings by recipients increased by 5.6 per cent on results from the last quarter of 2010 and 4.2 per cent on a year-on-year basis.
Titled the Q1 2011 Email Trends and Benchmarks study, the report said that the figures show "an increase in open rates as well as a significant uptick in average volume per client from the same time last year."
Nari Kanaan, writer for ebizq.net, recently said that more training on software systems could allow businesses to improve the quality of their data concerning email marketing.
