Data management 'needed' to make Sony secure

May 13 2011, 17:10 PM

Data management should be one of the issues currently being addressed by Sony as hackers have again hit the electronic giant.

That was one of the assertions made as part of the Sophos Chet Chat podcast.

Manager of SophosLabs US Richard Wang stated he hoped that Sony is taking steps to ensure that its data is "secure" and is "not going to be broken into in quite the same way as we've seen with PlayStation Network and Sony Online Entertainment".

He was speaking to senior security advisor at Sophos Canada Chester Wisniewski, who suggested it is "scary" to consider how best to make sure a company of its size remains completely protected from breaches.

Regional product marketing director at Norton Con Mallon recently suggested that security breaches are now something that individuals working within organisations should be wary of, which could encourage businesses to tackle best practice with their employees. ADNFCR-794-ID-800533799-ADNFCR
