Cloud computing 'offers security and reliability'
Sep 7 2011, 11:13 AM
Making the switch to cloud computing can provide organisations with the level of reliability and security they require.
That is according to Chief Executive of icomplete.com Stuart Hibbert, who suggested that it allows companies to "deploy state of the art firewalls, intrusion detection systems and such like".
He noted that trying to put all these measures in place internally can prove a difficult task.
Ease of access at all times, even in the event of occurrences such as power failures at an office, could also be a key benefit as Mr Hibbert noted their is now a desire for "services [that are] always available and obviously using cloud computing services will enable that to happen".
This follows recent comments made to The Australian by Vivek Kundra, the First Chief Information Officer for the US, stating that worries some corporations have about the security of cloud computing are "ridiculous" and "unfounded".
