Jul 22 2010, 16:04 PM
The flexibility of cloud computing could help organisations recover from the economic downturn, according to new research.
In a recent survey commissioned by Savvis, 68% of IT and business decision makers said that it has the potential to drive growth.
Of those questioned, 96% said they are now confident or more confident in cloud solutions being enterprise-ready than they were in 2009.
The study revealed that Singapore is now the leader when it comes to cloud computing, with around 76% of companies now using this solution, compared to 66% in the US and 57% in the UK.
"Flexibility and pay-as-you-go elasticity are driving many of our clients toward cloud computing," said Bryan Doerr, Chief Technology Officer at Savvis.
Writing recently for Fresh Business Thinking, Ben Weiner, the Chief Operating Officer of Conjungo, said there are may benefits associated with cloud computing, with the main one being the ability to drive down costs.
