Cloud computing 'can save time and benefit the environment'
Aug 31 2011, 13:25 PM
Adopting cloud computing measures can help companies to save time and provide a benefit to the environment, according to one expert.
Stuart Hibbert, Chief Executive of icomplete.com, explained the technology can not only allow employees to work from home and use "shared resources", but it also allows more flexible patterns of working.
He said: "There's a massive allowance of time that can be saved in terms of nobody enjoys the daily commute into an office, it wastes a hell of a lot of time and also the fuel associated with that. So a lot of it's very eco-friendly in that respect."
Furthermore, Mr Hibbert advised cloud computing could allow companies to cut down on the costs associated with reducing internal power requirements.
Andy Hom, General Manager of business internet provider Easynet Connect, recently suggested a "well-planned" cloud system will have the dual benefits of allowing businesses to be more efficient and have a better control over their finances.
