Businesses adopting cloud computing for increased flexibility?

Flexibility is the main driver for businesses looking to make the switch to cloud computing.

That is according to research conducted by the Cloud Industry Forum (CIF), which found 53 per cent of respondents to a survey of 450 senior IT and business decision makers cited it as the main reason to introduce the changes.

Companies with less than 20 staff found this even more important, as 63 per cent stated the chance to be more flexible was encouraging them to move to the cloud.

Joint chief executive officer for Outsourcery - and CIF founder member - Piers Linney suggested the findings show organisations of all sizes and across a range of industries are adopting the services.

"With only two per cent of respondents saying they would never consider cloud, it is clear that we are heralding a new era in business computing," he said.

Michael Dean, head of marketing at the National Computing Centre, recently suggested some corporations are still unsure about making the transition.  ADNFCR-794-ID-800496075-ADNFCR
