Sales Department – Authenticate Team

The QAS Authenticate team are the appointed lead UK Data Authentication sales teamfor the Experian Group. Experian’s authentication solutions benefit hundreds of organisations within the UK by streamlining their business processes and customer acquisition process as well as allowing them to manage their level of risk. The solutions use an electronic, risk-based approach to validate and verifythe identity ofindividuals in seconds. Authenticate Pro validates a customer at the point of application for a product or service, by comparing the biographical information they provide against authoritative data sources, using unique combinations of market-leading proprietary and third party data sources to ensure reliable, effective identity management.

Job Summary

Authentication is a core proposition within the Experian Group. This role will be a critical part of the Authenticate new business team.

Managing a defined list of customers and prospects you will be expected to develop and close opportunities to deliver against an annual target. You will be tasked with identifying new opportunities and also cross selling and up selling within the existing customer accounts. You will be responsible for managing opportunities through to close.

Through face-to-face sales meetings you will be required to develop a detailed understanding of the nature of the electronic authentication and verification with a view quantifying how and where the organisation will derive benefit from using our solution. In most cases you will be required to produce a proposal to support a business case. As such the role requires an individual with strong oral and written presentation skills and one who can build and leverage relationships within each account. We are looking for a solutions driven new business sales person, who can demonstrate an ability to work to well defined metrics.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Meeting annual and monthly targets
  • Building relationships and using them to sell
  • Understanding the business benefits and requirements defining the fits of electronic authentication and verification.
  • Identifying and delivering solutions and proposals
  • Managing the relationship with each account on an ongoing basis; to include new sales, additional product sales and general account management.
  • Continuously expanding contact network to new and higher level contacts across each account

Skill set required:

  • Degree educated (ideally 2.2 or above), or equivalent qualifications
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Excellent commercial awareness
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative to identify new business opportunities
  • Demonstrate a pro-active approach to tasks
  • Knowledge at selling at all levels of seniority from day-to-day contacts to board level decision makers.
  • Proven successful track record of solution sales within complex end user accounts.
  • Understanding of long-term sales process; selling complex solutions to multiple contacts.
  • Excellent problem solving and time management abilities
