Job Summary
You will be working in a project team structure, where delivery targets will be challenging. Many software testing activities will be involved, a selection of which could be:
Key Responsibilities:
-Test Strategy, Test Plan and Test Schedule creation
-Test Case creation
-Working with developers and other members of the project team to
find, document and resolve bugs in the product
-Manual testing, including an exploratory element
-Taking responsibility for testing activities including
performance, component, usability, functionality, installation and
documentation testing
-Taking responsibility for the quality of all final product images
and shipping media
-Automated test execution using previously created scripts and
harnesses
-Defect tracking
-Regression testing against previous versions of the
application
-Basic performance testing
-Contribution in project team meetings
-Testing the interface with Experian QAS products and CRM/ERP
systems
Required Skills and Experience:
-Degree calibre (ideally 2:1 class - scientific subject), good
A-Levels or equivalent qualifications
-ISEB Foundation Certificate in Software Testing
-Testing experience with Web Applications
-Knowledge of Web services (ideally IIS)
-Experience with the creation of Test Strategies and Test
Plans
-Experience with the creation and execution of Test Cases
-Knowledge of a defect tracking system
-Strong oral and written communication skills
-Excellent problem solving abilities
-Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating system
-Knowledge of Linux operating systems
-Ability to manage and prioritise a heavy workload
-Positive and professional approach
-Ability to communicate with staff at all levels
-Ability to work in a close-knit, professional team
-Initiative and a proactive approach to tasks
-Strong organisational ability
-Creative approach to testing
-Knowledge of databases and/or SQL
-Experience of at least 1 of the following:
o Software as a Service and associated concepts
o CRM and ERP systems (On Premise and On Demand)
-Experience with MS SQL Server
The following will be an advantage:
-Experience with Rational ClearQuest
