Job summary

Your role will be to lead a Project Management team, typically consisting of a mix of Project Managers, Senior Project Manager, Business Analysts and Programme Managers. You will have a direct reporting line into the MS GPDD Head of Platforms and in dotted line to the Global Director of PMO & Strategic Projects for MS GPDD.

You will work closely with the heads of other departments such as Development, QA and Product Management, to ensure the smooth running and delivery of Programmes and Projects within Experian QAS.

The type of Projects you and your team will be asked to manage will range between internal systems, software development projects and any others that require Project Management guidance and support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing the day-to-day operations of your team
  • Full, line management of team members, including: work allocation and problem resolution; motivating staff to achieve peak productivity; evaluating performance and making recommendations
  • Defining and tracking the team's budget
  • Ensuring job satisfaction and a career development framework for team members
  • Developing team skills by identifying and regularly tracking individual professional development plans; aligning team capability with overall Project Management team requirements
  • Coaching team members to evolve softer skills
  • Project Management leadership of the projects your team works on
  • Working with MS GPDD PMO to enhance overall effectiveness of the team
  • Perform tasks as instructed by Head of Platform (and MS GPDD)
  • Performing miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
  • Project and Programme Management of Projects and Programmes assigned to you

Skill set of the candidate

  • Graduate with a 2:1 degree in a relevant subject, and at least 24 points at A-level
  • Experience of project management working in an agile / iterative development environment (preferably RUP / UP)
  • Demonstrable interest in and enthusiasm for technical solutions
  • Strong analytical mind
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach
  • Positive, professional and supportive of colleagues at all times
  • Knowledge of information gathering, planning, and organising methods and principles
  • Ability to analyse target audience and to present ideas in user-friendly language
  • Ability to resolve conflicts, escalating where necessary
  • Strong negotiation and diplomacy skills
  • An understanding of the issues created by matrix management
  • Experience of successful technical leadership of projects
  • Strong people management skills
  • Excellent coaching and mentoring skills
  • Strong organisation skills - ability to handle a dynamic environment
  • Ability to prioritise and manage own and other's time

  • PRINCE2, MOR and MSP certified
